This is an anonymous form that links to the Google spreadsheet “Graphic Design Salary Transparency 💸” AIGA Eye on Design has put this form and spreadsheet together to encourage transparency and equity in the design industry. Both documents are anonymous and will always stay that way.

We’re much indebted to the “Arts + All Museums Salary Transparency” spreadsheet from May 2019, both for the idea and much of the language used. While the data collected in the spreadsheet will by no means be a perfect overview of the industry, it’s our belief that eliminating salary speculation is one vital step in moving towards a more progressive, diverse, inclusive, and fair work environment in design. All types of places of employment, including in-house studios, agencies, independent studios, etc., as well as museums, educational institutions, profit/non-profits of all sizes, countries, etc. are all warmly welcome. This form was written with salaried employees in mind, though freelancers are welcome to answer with their hourly wage or annual earnings. Very soon, we’ll be opening up a second spreadsheet specifically tailored to freelance graphic designers.

When it comes to race, gender, sexuality, and other identifying factors, we emphasize that you should only enter this information if you feel safe and comfortable doing so. It’s TOTALLY okay not to enter this information if you feel like it’ll identify you, or if you simply don’t want to answer.
