Student Parking Rules and Regulations & Application  2021-2022 School Year
1. The cost for student parking permits as determined by the Fauquier County School Board for the 2021-22
school year is $100.  All vehicles parked on school property must be registered with the main office and be
    assigned a parking permit.

2. All vehicles MUST display a current parking permit on the rearview mirror with the number facing the
windshield.  Unauthorized vehicles parking on school property will be ticketed or towed which may impose a
    financial obligation on the owner.

3. A parking permit is not “auto specific.”  Students may use their assigned parking permit on any vehicle that the
student has listed on the parking permit application.

4. All students parking on school property must possess a valid operator’s license and their vehicle covered by
insurance.  FAUQUIER HIGH SCHOOL IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY VEHICLE OR THE VEHICLE’S CONTENTS
    while parked on school property.

5. A parking permit allows a student to park in a designated numbered space on school days during regular
    school hours only.

6. If parking permits are lost, students must purchase a replacement permit for a fee of $2.00 from Mr. Kelican in
    the Main Office.

7. If a student’s assigned parking space is occupied by another vehicle upon arrival to school, the student must
proceed to an alternate parking space (visitor’s parking) located by the gym.  The student’s current parking
permit must be displayed at the alternate location.  The student must report this incident to Mr. Kelican for
corrective action.  Please include the make, model, color, and license plate number of the vehicle improperly
    parked in the student’s space.

8. Parking permits are non-transferrable.  Students may not loan, give, or sell their parking permit to other
    students.

9. Upon arrival to school, students must exit their vehicles immediately and proceed into the building.  Students
may not return to their vehicles during school hours without permission from an administrator.  Students
leaving school grounds without proper authorization are subject to suspension or revocation of their parking
    privileges and other disciplinary action.

10. Students who drive to school must report to school on time.  Driving to school is a privilege and students
must abide by all school rules and regulations. Excessive late arrivals to school may result in loss of parking
privileges.  Failure to abide by school rules and regulations will result in one or more of the following:

     a. Warning/probation/suspension of parking privileges for part of or the remainder of the school year.  There
will be no refund of fee when parking privileges are revoked.
     b. Towing of vehicle at the owner’s expense

disciplinary action for unsafe vehicle operation including speeding, improper
and reckless driving or other infractions that affect the safety of others.

12.  Maximum speed limit on school grounds is 10 mph

13.  Upon entering school property, the operator/owner of the vehicle consents to the
search of the vehicle with or without cause by school officials and/or police officers.
14.  Parking rules and regulations may be modified during the school year.  Students will be notified of any
