Student Parking Rules and Regulations & Application 2021-2022 School Year
1. The cost for student parking permits as determined by the Fauquier County School Board for the 2021-22
school year is $100. All vehicles parked on school property must be registered with the main office and be
assigned a parking permit.
2. All vehicles MUST display a current parking permit on the rearview mirror with the number facing the
windshield. Unauthorized vehicles parking on school property will be ticketed or towed which may impose a
financial obligation on the owner.
3. A parking permit is not “auto specific.” Students may use their assigned parking permit on any vehicle that the
student has listed on the parking permit application.
4. All students parking on school property must possess a valid operator’s license and their vehicle covered by
insurance. FAUQUIER HIGH SCHOOL IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY VEHICLE OR THE VEHICLE’S CONTENTS
while parked on school property.
5. A parking permit allows a student to park in a designated numbered space on school days during regular
school hours only.
6. If parking permits are lost, students must purchase a replacement permit for a fee of $2.00 from Mr. Kelican in
the Main Office.
7. If a student’s assigned parking space is occupied by another vehicle upon arrival to school, the student must
proceed to an alternate parking space (visitor’s parking) located by the gym. The student’s current parking
permit must be displayed at the alternate location. The student must report this incident to Mr. Kelican for
corrective action. Please include the make, model, color, and license plate number of the vehicle improperly
parked in the student’s space.
8. Parking permits are non-transferrable. Students may not loan, give, or sell their parking permit to other
students.

may not return to their vehicles during school hours without permission from an administrator. Students
leaving school grounds without proper authorization are subject to suspension or revocation of their parking
privileges and other disciplinary action.
10. Students who drive to school must report to school on time. Driving to school is a privilege and students
must abide by all school rules and regulations. Excessive late arrivals to school may result in loss of parking
