These last 4 years have been challenging to say the least. For the last few decades, the Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign has always organized the largest marches on the openings of both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. Now, with all the serious crises that are happening in the country and the world, what we do when we have the world’s attention (on opening days of these conventions) becomes even more important. We need to use that time with the world’s media to talk about crucial issues for humanity: the extinction of our planet, poverty, hunger, community violence and police brutality, homelessness, and the elimination of war. This year’s Democratic Convention will be taking place virtually, so we have moved our #LivesOverLuxury March from Milwaukee to PHILADELPHIA, PA on Biden's Headquarters. The PPEHRC has been busy holding Bootcamps and organizing mutual aid networkers across the country, and rapidly building the Poor People’s Army. See more details here: https://poorpeoplesarmy.com/. This is not a new kind of organization, rather it is a nonviolent army of the poor, similar to peasant armies in other parts of the world. Because we know you know the seriousness of all this, we are asking for your assistance. We will be marching from Independence Mall, where we as poor and working people will demand our political independence, and demand that both political parties begin to prioritize #LivesOverLuxury. We are coming to get our 67cents of every tax dollar that is spent on war and occupation, to put towards the poor, the planet, and to preserve humanity. Your endorsement will mean that you will contribute $100-500+ to get us started, arrange a bus/van/train from your state to the march in Philadelphia, organize people from your state to attend, host a bootcamp, designate a person to be on monthly organizing calls, and promote the march to your members monthly.
