Please complete all the questions. This class is an opportunity for students to work one-on-one on a detailed and long-form research project for a quarter with Dr. Gerry Philipsen. This class particularly focuses on three areas and the research project the student develops should be related to these areas. The research areas are:

- Communication that enhances effectiveness in workplace teams
- Personal negotiation strategies and conflict management in the workplace, and beyond
- Cultural and intergroup communication

Upon review of your application, the Assistant Director of Academic Services will be in touch with the necessary next steps for registration. There are five spots per quarter available. The class does not meet during traditional class hours but instead meets at times arranged between the instructor and the students. The class will be offered in the Autumn, Winter, Spring, and Summer quarters. The application process is evaluated by (1) the reason for interest in the research topic areas (2) the reason for interest in individualized research.
