Grade Parent Liaison

This year, one Grade Parent Liaison will be chosen to represent the entire grade as opposed to the individual class, with the exception of junior kindergarten (JK) and kindergarten. JK and kindergarten will each have one liaison per class (formerly “Room Parent”).

Once selected at random by the Adelson School, each Grade Parent Liaison will be responsible for:

  • Communicating teacher, school, and Parent Association (PA) events, programs, and initiatives to all parents.
  • Encouraging collaboration and engagement within their respective grades, as well as with school, community, and PA efforts.
All communication will be sent via Grade Parent Liaison to every family in their respective grades (and individual classes for JK and kindergarten). If applicable, responses and engagement should be shared with PA for Event Committee use.

Grade Parent Liaisons will be responsible for enlisting support for Reading Week classroom door and school décor as follows:
  • LS Grade Parent Liaisons are responsible for each of their respective grade's doors, and you are encouraged to share this responsibility with the multiple classes in your grade.
  • US Grade Parent Liaisons are responsible for assisting teaching staff (Ms. Nails) and administration in decorating the school hallways and common areas.
The Grade Parent Liaisons will be responsible for attending whenever possible and assisting in recruiting volunteers for PA and school events. Some of these events include:
  • Welcome Breakfast
  • End of Year BBQ/Challenge
  • Book Fair
  • Purim
  • Jewish Holidays: Rosh Hashanah/Hanukkah/Tu B' Shevat/Passover/Yom Ha’atzmaut
Grade Parent Liaisons will be responsible for communication and encouragement of participation in community events throughout the year. Some of these events include:
  • Adelson Athletics events
  • Community/Charity Walks
  • 100 Day Can Drive
  • Thanksgiving Food Drive
Please know that you are not responsible for the following:
  • Distribution of personal party invitations (birthday, etc.); each parent will receive a contact list for their respective class and are able to send out their invitations directly
  • Collecting monies for teacher gifts throughout the year
PA will run its school-wide Teacher Gift Fund Collection twice per year for this very purpose, and in collaboration with school’s leadership, a collective gift will be decided upon and distributed.
