Thank you for participating in this year's Ahwatukee Youth Band, a program of the Desert Vista HS Band Program. Formed in 2010, this will be the 13th year for the Ahwatukee Youth Band (AYB) and we are so excited to start up again!
The AYB is made up of select students from surrounding Middle Schools, alongside mentors from the Desert Vista Band program. The purpose of the group is to give outstanding young musicians the opportunity to play great music side-by-side with top high school students.
DATES -
Rehearsals (all 4:00-5:30 pm):
1. Wed, Mar. 22 (Week following Spring Break)
2. Wed, Mar. 29
3. Wed, Apr. 05
4. Wed, Apr. 12
(All rehearsals are held in the Desert Vista HS Band Room.)
CONCERT DAY:
Monday, April 17 - (5:00 - 6:30 pm Dress Rehearsal and Pizza Dinner provided!)
- The Concert begins at 7:00 pm. Free admission
Concert Dress:
- You will be given an Ahwatukee Youth Band t-shirt that we will use as our uniform
- You will need to provide Black Pants, and Black Shoes (& black socks).
COST (Mentors):
There is a $20 membership fee to help offset the cost of music, facilities, and instruction.
Note: It is extremely important that if you want to be in the AYB that you make ALL rehearsals and the concert. Please do not complete the application unless you can make the full time commitment.
