WMU Music - 2022-23 Application
This Music Application form is used to request an undergraduate audition and/or interview  and provide us with detailed information about your intended program of study. Prospective undergraduates must attend events on one of our New Student Admissions Day (NSAD) to ensure entrance and scholarship consideration. As of now, NSAD events are planned to be on campus in person, but if conditions change to make in-person meetings unsafe and viable we will shift back to virtual sessions. NSADs are full-day events with orientation sessions in the morning and auditions and interviews in the afternoon. So please check your personal calendar carefully to ensure you do not have any conflicts (e.g., school activity, solo/ensemble competition, etc.) before selecting your NSAD date.

Our Scheduled NSAD date for Spring 2023 admission is:  November 4
For Fall 2023 admission: January 27, February 4,  February 17, and February 24

*** After February 24, we will consider late applications for programs and studios that are not already full.
You will need special permission to schedule an audition and/or interview. ***

Please submit this form EARLY (must be received at least two weeks prior to desired NSAD). Specific audition and interview times are filled on a first come/first served basis and we cannot guarantee availability for all applications. The studios and programs are limited in the number of students that may be accepted; admission is highly competitive. The earlier times will be assigned to applicants who register first.

You may apply for multiple programs, but each application should be submitted separately (because you will be asked to provide different information depending on the program).  You are only allowed to re-apply for a specific program once (i.e., there is a maximum of two attempts for any specific studio or program).

NOTE: This form is NOT for Graduate applicants (see https://wmich.edu/music/academics/grad), nor for Music Therapy Equivalency applicants (see https://wmich.edu/musictherapy/academics/equivalency). This form is also not for Music Theatre Performance majors (see https://wmich.edu/theatre)

In this application, you will be asked to select a New Student Admissions date and provide background information related to the degree to which you are applying. This may include repertoire studied, ensembles, honors, and camps attended; as well as a statement of your interest and goals for your chosen program. You may want to have this information ready and available before you proceed further.

Again, if you wish to apply for more than one degree or audition on a second instrument, you must submit an additional Music application form for each because you will be prompted for different information specific to each program.

If you have already submitted an application and wish to request a change, please use the following form:
https://sites.google.com/a/wmich.edu/music/application/change-request
No changes can be made within 7 days of a given NSAD date.

Complete this form until you reach the last page with a SUBMIT button. After you submit, you should receive a confirmation email.
