ASAWA Grade School Tutoring Terms and Conditions
Almaden South Asian Women’s Association (“ASAWA”, “we”, “the organization”) is a nonprofit organization that aims to empower women in all facets of life, including promoting them in their careers, social life, and home life.
Through the Grade School Tutoring program (“the program”, “the tutoring program”), ASAWA aims to provide a daycare-like service for elementary schoolers in the Almaden area during school closures due to COVID 19.
By signing my child up for this program and by signing this document, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:
This program is run by volunteers. As a parent, I acknowledge that the curriculum provided by the volunteers is not intended to follow the same lessons as taught in school, and is not meant to be a replacement or substitute for what my child has and will be learning in school.
I acknowledge that the volunteers cannot be held accountable for my child’s attendance during the course of the program, including the following:
Volunteers cannot be held responsible if my child chooses to log off the program in the middle of the lesson.
Volunteers cannot be held accountable if my child chooses to not attend class.
Volunteers cannot be held accountable for not keeping my child engaged during class, and cannot be made to ensure that my child is participating in class.
I acknowledge that the lessons will be held online, and ASAWA has no responsibility for providing the electronic devices required for attending lessons.
I acknowledge that volunteers have a set lesson plan, and cannot be asked to create individualized or personalized lesson plans for my child.
Volunteers will not be held accountable to keep track of my child’s progress over the course of the program.
Volunteers will not be expected to discipline my child.
Volunteers will not be available to talk to parents outside of class. As a parent, I will not contact volunteers outside of their tutoring times, and I will not interrupt the lesson plans for questions specific to my student.
I understand that all queries must be sent to
info@asawa.net, and someone will respond to my queries as soon as possible.
Some Rules and Expectations For Kids
Thank you for participating in our tutoring program! We have some guidelines that we would like you to follow so this can be a fun experience for all of us.
We would appreciate it if you could do the following:
Avoid using foul language
Come to class on time
Be respectful of others
Be polite to your peers and your teachers
Find ways to participate and ask questions! These activities are more fun when everyone asks questions and takes an interest in what is being taught!
Thank you and we look forward to meeting you!
