Description

Home Of Refuge Outreach Inc is a 501(c)3, nonprofit Homeless shelter located in Eden, NC. HORO serves Rockingham County, NC. Home Of Refuge Outreach Inc is seeking a self-sufficient, dependable and motivated employee who can work with us to make our shelter more efficient and neighbor friendly. 

This person would sign up for shifts on the days and hours of their choice. We would like to prioritize the busiest times which are Monday- Sunday from 7am to 8am and from 4pm to 5pm. This person will transport our neighbors from pick-up locations to the shelter and drop off, along with providing a Breathalyzer for the neighbors. Once completed, upon arrival of shelter, neighbors will be greeted by Overnight Host and/or In-take Coordinator. 

Requirements

Must have a current and valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Self-motivated

Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time

Perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Manages difficult or emotional situations; responds promptly feedback to improve service; responds to requests from Executive Director.

Obtain and submit all records and receipts for gas and/or vehicle maintenance.

Report any instance of mishap or accident; submit written documentation when issues escalate to the level requiring an official “incident report.”

Assist both physically and mentally disabled guests in and out of the vehicle as needed.

Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
