BM Hanson Elementary School Request for Virtual Learning
The BM Hanson Virtual Learning option is an educational delivery model that may benefit students/families impacted by COVID-19. Intent to choose this option can be submitted until Thursday, November 12, 2020 for the second trimester.

Eligible Students: This educational opportunity will be made available to K-6 students enrolled or eligible to enroll in the Harvey Public School District if their educational needs can be met in a virtual manner due to COVID-19 concerns or underlying health reasons within the family during the 2020-2021 school year.

Expectations and Guidelines
● The parents/guardians will be active participants in their child’s virtual learning experience.
● Families will need a device (other than a cell phone) for students to use.
● Families will need Internet access.
● Students must aware they will be assessed and graded consistently with face-to-face instruction.
● Students will be required to be in contact daily with their teacher.  Some portions of classroom instruction may be "live streamed" through Google Classroom, and recordings of these lessons may then be posted to Google Classroom.
● Attendance will be taken daily.  If a student will be absent during any of the required sessions, you will need call the BM Hanson Elementary School office.
●Teachers will provide direct instruction, review pacing, provide feedback, and make instructional decisions regarding student progress.
● BM Hanson Elementary School teachers will connect with students and families, respond to questions, provide feedback, assess learning, and provide reports of progress.
● A commitment of a full trimester at BM Hanson Elementary School (12 weeks) is required when choosing virtual learning. Requests to return to in-person learning must be submitted in writing to the BM Hanson Elementary principal by October 30, 2020 for the second trimester, and by February 12 for the third trimester.
● If a student does not abide by the expectations and guidelines, students/families MAY be removed from virtual learning.
● I understand if my child does not complete the learning activities, make adequate progress, and/or course completion they will be removed from virtual learning, and truancy may be filed (if applicable).
