WMS Family Survey: In-Person Instruction
Dear Parent/Caregiver:
The State Governor, in concurrence with the California Department of Public Health, has released guidance to determine when a school can have in-person instruction once a County has moved into the Red Tier (Substantial). However, this does not immediately result in a full return of students and staff to in-person classes. Monterey County is currently in the Purple Tier (Widespread), which does not allow fully reopening schools for in-person classes. In order for our County to move down to the Red Tier, we would need to meet the metrics of the Red Tier for 14 days. At that point, we would still only be able to reopen for in-person classes if we are able to meet all other CDC guidelines. At the same time, there is also new guidance to allow for small cohorts to come on campus to support their learning needs even in our current Tier. This too will take additional planning before implementation. It is for this reason that we ask that every parent complete this survey for each one of your students enrolled in the Salinas Union High School District.
The deadline to submit is October 15, 2020.
