DCK April 2024 Term
We are happy to welcome you to the last term of the 2023/24 school year for classes at the DCK studios. This is the term in which all students get to perform in our annual RECITALS! 

TERM DATES:
22nd April – 6th July
Half Term Break will run from 26th May – 1st June

RECITALS:
Signing up for the recitals is also done through this form. Rehearsals are done within the normal class time and on the day of the show itself. All classes will have a piece in the recitals.

PROVISIONAL Dates and Venue for Recitals 2024:

Rosslyn Studio Recitals: Sunday 26th May
Hardy Studio Recitals: Sunday 16th June
Lavington Studio Recitals: Saturday 29th June 

Venue: Braeside Auditorium, Off Muthangari Road, Lavington.
(These dates are provisional as we are waiting for confirmation from Breaside School)

The cost to participate in the recitals is KES 1200 per piece for all dance and ballet students. This recital fee helps to cover costs of costumes, theatre hire, extra staff costs, printing costs etc. The Gymnastics students from Level 1 up to 5, will be required to perform in their own gymnastics uniform and will therefore only pay KES 700 per piece for the recital fee. The Play Group Gymnasts and Acro-Gym students will fall under the first mentioned category and pay the KES 1200 Recital Fee.

More information about the venue and tickets will be send out closer to time.

BALLET INFO:
All ballet students will remain at the level they were at before exams and move to the next Grade at the beginning of the September term. Please note that we have combined some of the ballet levels with lower numbers, for ease of preparation for recitals, as well as to make the preparation more fun for the students. 

Please note:

  • Vocational Ballet Class includes Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate Ballet, Advanced Foundation and Adv. 1 & 2 students.
  • Intermediate Ballet Class includes Intermediate Foundation and Intermediate Ballet students
  • Advanced Ballet Class includes Advanced Foundation and Adv 1 &  2 students.

We hope that all ballet students Grade 1 and above will continue to take a minimum of two ballet classes a week to maintain the standard they have achieved this year.  Also, we encourage all pointe students to not only take the two ballet classes a week (this is mandatory for pointe students) but also two pointe classes when possible and we highly recommend that the vocational students make the effort to take classes like Gold Musical Theatre and Tap to broaden their training. 

Please note that it is mandatory to purchase specific ballet attire for the ballet classes, kindly contact our administrators for more info.

Pre-Primary – 5 years
Primary – 6 years
Grade 1 up to Grade 5 – 7 years +
 
GYMNASTICS INFO:
It is required for students who are in LEVEL 4 and 5 gymnastics to take gymnastics twice a week and for the other levels this is also strongly recommended. Please note that it is mandatory to purchase specific gymnastics attire for the gymnastics classes, please contact our administrators for more info.

Class fees are capped at KES 75,000 
(This is meant for students who take more than 5 hours of class a week)

***Promotion!! Sign up now and pay for your Capped Fees before 17th of April 2024 and pay only: 70,000!!

All payments must be made before your first class. Dance Centre Kenya retains the right to exclude students for non-payment of fees.

Sibling Discount: 10% percent off of the second highest bill and 20% off of the third highest bill.

Please note that fees cannot be refunded, when a class is missed.
