AMP Overture Strings Camp registration 
AMP Overture Strings Camp is a week-long introductory immersion into playing a stringed instrument. Participants will choose violin, viola, or cello as their focus and will experience the fun of making music with their friends as they learn the basics of performing as an ensemble! This camp is designed for ages 8-13 and is intended for beginner and advanced-beginner players. No previous musical knowledge is required. This camp will be led by experienced teacher and local musician, Barb Hunter and others, along with other musical guests and "camp counselors" from The Skagit Symphony! 

With the instructor’s guidance, participants will learn the basics of tuning, holding, plucking and bowing stringed instruments, reading music, playing rhythms and harmony, and performing as an ensemble. Have a desire to play but no instrument? No worries! We can provide rental instruments. Please join us for some string-playing fun!
