IAU WiA- MEET THE ASTRONOMERS (Registration form)
Dear Colleagues,

On International Women's Day, we have invited Astronomers:

Prof. Belinda Wilkes, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory , United States
Prof. Nectaria Gizani, Hellenic Open University, School of Science and Technology, Patra, Greece

The speakers have long career in research and have been leading projects with Chandra X-ray Observatory and Hellenic Radio Telescope THERMOpYlae. They have actively taken up new initiatives and made significant contributions in their field of research. Thanks to their long career experience, they are invited as experts in several jury committees. On the occasion of International Women's Day,  they will share their career experience and answer your queries related to funding opportunities, appreciation and depreciation in academics.

Come and join us in this inspiring open discussion and explore how to create new career paths in Astronomy!

Below is the topic of discussion:
1- your experience as a women researcher
2- recommendations for writing a good funding proposal
3- reasons why the women applicants have less successful proposals
4- problems faced by women members of the Jury Panel, as well as the applicants
5- Recommendations for astronomers, funding agencies, and policymakers
6- Filtering academic appreciation - depreciation
