RSVP for MeMoSa: Ultimate Catharsis 1

Student Artist-in-Residence Lily Selthofner presents: Ultimate Catharsis 1

Friday, March 29th  |  7:00pm

Saturday, March 30th |  7:00pm

at the Movement Lab, Milstein LL020

Ultimate Catharsis 1 is an interdisciplinary, multimedia experimental performance art piece. UC1's dynamic cast of sixteen dancers, actors, and musicians, featuring both students and non-student collaborators, leads the viewer through a cathartic reclamation of Justice and Truth. Amidst the sublime of love, divinity, and awareness, UC1 holds accountable the intersections of institutional and relational violence. The show includes modern, ballet, dance theater, poetry/narration, improvised and choreographed dance, and singing, and musical accompaniment of cello, harp, saxophone, electric guitar, synth, drums, and piano -- also with dinosaurs and werewolves.

Content Warning:
This show tackles a lot of heavy topics including sexual violence, institutional oppression at Columbia, familial violence, and touches on some current events. While these topics are complex and painful, they need to be talked about and we are doing that through art, with beauty and sensitivity, towards providing a valuable and growth oriented audience experience, in the name of love.

Doors open at 6:45PM and MeMoSa begins at 7:00PM

Capacity in the lab is capped at 40 audience members. Attendees who have RSVP'd before the event will have priority, and admission will be determined on a first come first serve basis on arrival. If you RSVP before the event but you arrive late, we reserve the right to give your spot to someone on the waitlist.

Attendees who have not RSVP'd will be put on a standby waitlist if they arrive in-person before the event.
