Nominations for the Staff Recognition Award are open to all divisions and departments.  Students and parents are encouraged to review the criteria below and submit a nomination on or before May 7, 2021. As a reminder, this award is for Blake Staff, not those in administrative positions.

In 2013, Blake senior Kenny Stesin proposed the creation of the Staff Recognition Award to complement the Juliet Nelson Award for faculty. This award recognizes a Blake employee (such as a teaching assistant, instructional support, office, maintenance or security staff member, or a bus driver) who, during the course of the academic year, has taken the time to give of themself in a special way as mentor, confidant, tutor or friend to a student. The award is created to affirm the kind of selfless, one-on-one support, instruction, good humor and friendship that characterizes community at its very best and turns an academic environment into a happy place for creative learning and personal growth. There are countless examples of this spirit at Blake.

Any Blake student or parent may nominate any Blake staff member from any department or division for this award.
