Our mission is to create and nurture a loving and inclusive society for all people experiencing disability. We empower and support families and individuals whose lives have been touched by developmental disability. We work to support and increase access to education, promote public understanding and acceptance, advocate for full inclusion, and defend the civil rights of individuals with disabilities. Our values are the core of our organization and the basis for how we make decisions to support our mission, forge community bonds, and work for systems change.
NW Disability Support is the evolution of our work as Northwest Down Syndrome Association and ABI Community.
Time Commitment: Two-hour board meeting 1X month via Zoom (attend at least 80% of these meetings)
Board Retreat: 1X yearly for a full day
Commit to supporting fundraising and attending at least 25% of events (see our website for what we do)
Various duties as assigned outside of board meetings as needed
