ACLD Ambassador – To help out the Board with representing the ACLD to the community when no-one else is available. 

Ladysmith Gallery positions
All these positions 

 Gallery on call group

You cannot commit to be a gallery host but are willing to take the training and be called in a crisis to host. We hate to close the gallery due to a lack of staff so please consider helping out!

Gallery host 

 3.5 hours at a time and some training is involved. We need volunteers willing to open on close as well. Love working with public and to showcase our gallery.

Hanging crew

Skills in hanging art needed or a willingness to learn. This usually happens once a month

Boutique admin 

Help with the intake and display of items in the boutique. Mostly a couple of hours per month. Must have an eye for pleasing display and be detail oriented.

Gallery admin

 Helping with tasks such as updating the catalogue and also with intake and outtake. Detailed oriented, good writing skills.

Window Display

Volunteers who help out with the Royal Lepage window art display once a month.

Event Volunteers

Once per year or every other year events. We need committee members and then lots of volunteers for the days of these events. The committees normally meet once a month up to a year in advance. 

Arts on the Avenue 

Committee volunteer - love organizing, able to meet once a month and be available on the days of the event.

Arts on the Avenue
Volunteer for event. There are loads of opportunities with a variety of requirements. If you choose this one you will be sent an email with detail closer to the event that takes place in August
Fine Art Show
Committee volunteer - love organizing, able to meet once a month and be available on the day of the event. The FAS takes place every other year in February, the next one is 2025
Fine Art Show
Volunteer for event. Various opportunities. You will be emailed with a comprehensive list closer to the event
Random events
These are usually fundraisers or other events we organize. Some may become regular events.

These are connected to classes but the same type of positions is also for community outreach so please see that section as well. You must have a criminal record check for these.

Art class assistant 
Help teachers during art classes and spring/summer camps. You must love children and enjoy their learning process.

Community Outreach
Part of our mandate and one of our strengths is to make the community aware of what we do.
Community Outreach Committee

This committee works throughout the year on various ways of reaching out to the community. Meeting nor more than once a month. 

Event volunteer
For example be at a tent during Ladysmith days representing the ACLD to the public. Must enjoy working with the public.
Magazine committee
Create and publish the Art Magazine quarterly. Meet once a month. Great organizational skills and writing skills. 
Policy committee
We have a policy committee that meets about once a month to ensure our policies and procedures are up to date. If you enjoy writing and are detailed oriented this might be something you will enjoy!
Clear selection
Maintenance and moving
We always need volunteers to help with maintenance. This can include painting walls, fixing things etc. Then we also need some strong volunteers to help move boxes and furniture preferably with a pick-up truck. This will be as needed for both.
