The price of a harvest share is not linked to the sum of individual vegetable prices, like it's the case in supermarkets. The starting point is a basic compensation that covers the costs and facilities of the farm. In addition, as a harvester you determine the hourly wages of the farmers.

The contribution is per person, so you pay for the amount of people in your household. Children aged 0 up to 6 participate for free, and children aged 7 up to 12 participate for 50%.

Sustainable agriculture not only means caring for the soil, crops and the environment, but also caring for each other. The ideal picture is a farm where everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, has access to the freshest possible, nutritious and healthy vegetables. Sustainable also means that the farmer can earn a fair income to be able to (continue to) grow these vegetables with care. Solidary payment brings all this together. Those who have more to spend can make it possible for someone to join who has less money.

The income-related price system asks you to take your own economic situation and the hourly wage you earn into account when choosing your price for a harvest share. In the table below we have indicated how the total price of a harvest share affects our salary payments.

We expect that the majority of you will opt for a harvest share price of at least €16/hour - and ideally €18/hour or above - as this is the minimum amount that the farmers need to receive a minimum wage. At the same time, we want our harvest to be accessible to everyone. If you cannot pay the minimum harvest share price, but would still like to participate, please send an email to plukboterbloem@cityplot.org. We will do our best to accommodate you.

Please also note that we are self-employed. The hourly rate we show in the table is a GROSS amount, from which we have to pay our pensions, social security, vacation days, insurance and taxes. In the coming years we hope to earn more so that we can build up a pension and cover our insurance and other costs.
