Dear Escondido Families:

What a year! We realize that we are not quite done with this school year, but the PTA is planning for next year already and we are looking for families willing to step-up and serve on a team as a VOLUNTEER and/or CHAIR.

Given the current situation, we will need to approach PTA events differently and adjust our programs. We are in need of creative problem solvers, who want to contribute to our wonderful community!

Please consider filling out this form---let us know if you'd consider VOLUNTEERING or CHAIR/co-Chairing an event or program. If you are not sure if you can Chair an event on your own, we can match you up with others looking to co-chair, not a problem. It is always more fun to share the role!

By completing this form, you are not obligated to serve the position, we are merely surveying the school population to find out interest levels. An Executive Board member will reach out and provide more information and answer any questions you may have.

Finally, I want to thank you for the honor to serve as your PTA President, and on the executive board for ten years. I will be stepping back from the board next year to focus on other projects. I'm very excited for the outstanding members elected to the Executive Board for 2020-21, an excellent group of experienced volunteers, ready to lead!

PTAC Representative - Attend 1-2 PTAC meetings a month and provide an update at the PTA Board meeting

School Photo Day - Help Coordinate volunteers for photo day(s)

Hearing & Vision Testing Days - Help coordinate volunteers for these day(s)

Math Night - Usually a fall event in the MP room, most likely to be modified next year

Science Fair - Help coordinate the student science fair sign ups and Science Night on campus (or virtually)

Talent Show - Many helpers put on an amazing and unforgettable Escondido show of talent

Unity Day - Coordinate school day embracing unity and acceptance

Walk-n-Roll - Engage the community in challenges to Walk-n-Roll to school and raise awareness of bike safety routes.

Book Fair - Help promote, set up and manage volunteers for the annual Book Fair (usually spring)

Last Day Fair - An annual fair celebrating the last day of school.

Yearbook - Take photos, make pages, document classroom events for the yearbook!

Translations Team - on-call for Spanish translations

Black History Month - February

Penny Power in March - Use small coins to raise money for a local or international charity.

Sprouts Garden - Help clean up Escondido classroom planter boxes, coordinate garden volunteers or projects for the kids to work on in their classes.

Spanish Book Fair - help the Spanish Book Fair team bring hard to get titles in Spanish to Escondido campus (usually early December)
