The Hive will be a membership-based maker space in downtown Greenfield dedicated to supporting entrepreneurship and the creative economy. We will be equipped with prototyping and production equipment including 3D printers, a 3D scanner, a laser cutter, a 4-axis CNC mill, a vinyl cutter, a variety of hand and power tools, and additional equipment to be determined by member interest and space requirements. We will grow and strengthen the local community of potential creators and innovators by offering classes, workshops, training, access to business development services, and free public events such as pop-up galleries, makers' markets, and special-interest clubs, competitions, and meetups.

With the help of our current fiscal sponsor, The Progress Partnership, The Hive has secured a 5800 square foot storefront space at 156 Main Street in Greenfield. We have applied for a seed grant from the Mass Development Collaborative Workspace program and are in the process of pursuing additional funding opportunities. We need to raise $15,000 in operating expenses for the 19/20 fiscal year and will need approximately $100,000 in cash and in-kind donations for the 20/21 fiscal year in order to meet the match requirement for the Mass Development implementation grant that we hope will fund the startup of the space.
