On June 9, 1922, Joseph T. Tykociner demonstrated sound on film technology for the first time. This took place right here in Champaign-Urbana. To celebrate, CMM will be hosting another 48-Hour Film Competition which the screening taking place on June 9, 2022, exactly 100 years to the day of the first sound on film recording. The prompt will be given in person on Friday, June 3 at 7 PM. The prompt may include a physical item so all teams must be present. All films must be sent to Andrew Stengele at
andrewstengele@gmail.com by 7 PM on Sunday, June 5. During those 48 hours, your team must write, direct, and edit a movie based on the prompts given.
Location for the kick-off and screening are still being determined. All teams will be emailed the information once a location has been chosen.
