une 21-30, 2024. This is an Acorn production for Young Actors and young audiences. Public shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday ( all matinees). Two morning performances for summer day-school groups Fridays, June 21st and 28th at 9:30am.
Rehearsals will be evenings M-F. A calendar will be available at auditions.
AUDITION DAY: Please note that for the safety of all, minors must be accompanied by ONE parent or guardian, who will sign the audition form. Do not bring observers or family groups unless all are auditioning. Please fill out this form for each person auditioning.
You may pre-fill out your "Treehouse Musical" audition form found on our website, (you have to print it out and bring it, it does NOT save online) or fill it out when you arrive. We will audition on the second floor in the Rehearsal Hall.
Prepare 24-32 bars (one verse and a chorus) of a song in contemporary musical theatre style. Bring sheet music marked for accompaniment. If you use a track, you may plug into our speaker, or bring your own (use karaoke or accompaniment tracks only). Choose a song that enhances and shows off your singing skills - usually not a song from the play for which you are auditioning, but you may sing a Suessical song if you wish. You will also be asked to take part in dance auditions, where the choreographer will ask you to learn a few steps, so wear dance shoes or sneakers. Please no a capella auditions.
THE CAST: We are casting performers 7-18 years old. No one over the age of 18 may be in the cast as per our contract. There is a large ensemble of Whos, Jungle Creatures, Fish, , Circus performers, etc. Color and gender inclusive casting. See cast descriptions below. The large cast will be very interactive and able to create characters and relationships guided by the directors during the rehearsal process. You can find helpful audition hints on our website. Be brave. We expect young actors to have little to no experience.
