The Rhonda McKee and Don Tosh Outstanding Chapter AwardEstablished in 2021, the Rhonda McKee and Don Tosh Outstanding Chapter Award is granted biennially to recognize an active chapter which exemplifies the purposes of KME. The award is named in honor of Rhonda McKee of MO Beta and Don Tosh of MO Theta, both of whom provided exemplary leadership for their local chapters for many years. Chapters are eligible to receive this award at most once every ten years. More than one Outstanding Chapter Award may be granted in a given biennium. The National Council will decide the amount of the award, which is currently $500. A plaque will also be presented to each chapter receiving the award.
NOMINATION PROCESSChapters may submit applications for the award by February 1 of odd-numbered years. Chapters may also be nominated by National Council members or Regional Directors. The winner(s) will be selected by the National Council. Awardees will be announced at biennial national conventions.
CRITERIAChapters applying for the award will be judged on the following activities:
- Initiating new members during the current biennium and submitting the initiation report(s) and fees to the National Secretary in a timely manner.
- Submitting Chapter Reports to the National Historian each semester.
- Attending recent Regional and National Conventions
- Having Student Presenters at recent Regional and National Conventions
- Service at the Regional or National level, including committee membership at conventions
- Holding regular local chapter meetings and other activities
- Hosting a Regional or National Convention within the past 10 years
