I. Each member is required to focus on the mission, vision and values of the Youth Action Board. Each member will uphold service, integrity, leadership and inclusion as the Youth Action Board values. Our mission is to bring about change to the current systems of homelessness that have established barriers for homeless youth in San Antonio and to establish equity in youth voice and decision making throughout the community through youth empowerment.

II. Each member must be inducted and accepted by a compound interview process.

III. Each member is required to provide oversight regarding all Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) planning and implementation. The U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) chose SARAH as a funding recipient for the department's Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) in the amount of $6.88 Million, which will expand and develop solutions to address youth homelessness in our community. Additionally, the Youth Action Board is purposefully composed of ⅔ youth with lived experience of homelessness in an effort to accurately address youth homelessness.

IV. Each member is expected to promote an accurate, positive image and reputation of the Youth Action Board.

V. Each member is expected to be an enthusiastic and knowledgeable voice for the Youth Action Board.

VI. Each member is required to act as an advocate for the Youth Action Board and the people we serve.

VII. Each member is required to attend two mandatory meetings and one auxiliary meeting monthly.

VIII. Each member is required to participate in the tasks of the Youth Action Board and discussion at meetings by asking questions and seeking answers before voting.

IX. Each member must recognize their role as a member of a team.
