Thank you for your interest in being one of our Classroom Helpers at Misty’s DANCE UNLIMITED.  Please complete this application by Friday, August 14.

We are looking for 15-18 dedicated helpers and/or assistants to volunteer their time and talents this season!

Classroom Helpers: Dancers in Level 1 and up (age 9 +) who are able to help with 1 of our Children’s Classes each week for the entire season.
 
Classroom Assistants: Dancers in Level 4 and up (age 14 +) who are able to help with 3 or more Children's Classes at least 2 nights per week.

JFAC (Junior Faculty): Dancers who are Juniors or Seniors who are a part of a training program designed to give you the leadership training, coaching, and classroom experience needed for possible teaching positions in the future.  JFAC is available for subbing, private lessons, and teaching specialty classes and camps.

Please note that we are not able to place all applicants every year. Additional positions may be added as the season progresses.  Assistants are placed by a combination of the following:
1.  Number of classes that need extra help due to higher enrollment
2.  Your availability during classes that require assistance
3.  Type of classes you are best suited to assist

Duties:
* Help keep dancers stay focused in class.
* Help dancers tie their shoes
*Answer individual questions.
*Mentor younger students by building connections and being another friendly face to help nurture their love for dance!
* Give compliments and encouragement to dancers.
* Demonstrating steps across the floor.
* Assist the teacher with starting and stopping music.
*Learning the skills to teach and manage a class.

Our Classroom Helpers and Assistants are part of our Student Leadership program - building up younger dancers in a positive, nurturing environment and creating opportunities for future growth and development.  This is a great place to get plugged in and explore the other side of the art of dance.  Dancers will learn important life skills in this program and have opportunities for additional training.

A student leader is any student who takes on the responsibility of spreading knowledge through inspiration and mentoring.  A student leader strives to change the world by starting with their own community. :)

You will be notified by Monday, August 17 if you have been placed as a helper or assistant for this season!
