Programme Details:
Originally developed by Zindel Segal (University of Toronto), Mark Williams (University of Oxford), and John Teasdale (University of Cambridge) to prevent relapse for people suffering from multiple episodes of depression, MBCT programme has been widely applied to a range of physical and psychological health problems, such as anxiety disorders, cancer, chronic fatigue, and irritable bowel syndrome, and is increasingly recognized as a way that anyone can use to deal more skillfully with the stresses and strains of daily living, therefore, MBCT for Life.
MBCT programme integrates core mindfulness practices from Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme, and cognitive exercises from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
This course is for anyone who is interested to
• Establish regular mindfulness practice and have an in-depth exploration of mind and body
• Learn basic psychological concepts to understand thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and recognise common mental health symptoms associated with stress
• Apply MBCT techniques in daily living to improve physical wellbeing and strengthen mental resilience
