#MarginsBookselling is a yearlong celebration of bookstores owned and managed by BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, disabled and n
communities as well as booksellers who identify from these communities as well.
Although the main festivities will take place in August, we've planned events all year round to celebrate YOU!
Since the program's launch, we have:
-- created the
#MarginsBookselling Map an ever-growing national database of bookstores serving our communities,
-- published the
#MarginsBookselling Journal with Chronicle Books, which features some participating stores,
-- provided free Libro.fm audiobook subscription giveaways
-- launched our pre-publication bookseller series in partnership with Penguin Random House and hosted bookseller-only events with Ingrid Rojas Contreras, Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, Camonghne Felix, and Nicole Cuffy
-- hosted virtual events with authors such as Michelle Zauner, Mariame Kaba, and R.O. Kwon, Rubén Degollado,
-- launched the #MarginsBookselling Newsletter
-- distributed a #MarginsBookselling kit to participating stores which included bookmarks, an enamel pin and a window decal courtesy of Penguin Random House,
-- created our #MarginsBookselling Presents event series which includes bookseller-focused workshops, events and opportunities to build community,
-- celebrated the
BIPOC Bookseller Award winner,
-- featured participating stores and booksellers in Bookshop.org newsletters,
-- launched the inaugural
Joy Ambassador Program in collaboration with New York Times Bestselling authors that highlighted amazing booksellers,
-- and worked with our programming partners (Penguin Random House, Bookshop.org, Libro.fm and Chronicle Books) to spotlight participating stores on all our social media platforms.
We would love for you to participate. All we need is the below information and that's it!
#MarginsBookselling is about celebrating you, uplifting your stores and booksellers and helping to drive traffic to your stores and new customers to your stores.
