CDC Michaelmas term 2023
We have a chance to use a new dance studio on Chesterton Road (Mitcham's Corner). It will be significantly smaller than Parkside or Chesterton gyms but more usable than Kelsey Kerridge and Hills Road Sixth Form College for gap weeks and allows us to add some more things back into the timetable. It may replace Parkside as our standard "large" venue if people like it, since the caretaker coverage situation at Parkside shows no sign of improving. We're already committed to some KK bookings for the upcoming year but it might eventually replace most of those too.

The new timetable for 2023-4 will include having an intermediate to advanced DanceSport Ballroom class with Ben & Stef back on Wednesdays again as well as their ongoing Thursday session - which should help some XS Latin members who had a team practice conflict. But we need to know whether the class component of the new evening should come before or after the open DS practice (for those who care at all). And we'll also need a committee volunteer to run it.

On the social side, the facilities there would probably work quite well for the return of a more regular weekend tea dance in a larger space than St.Andrew's hall in Chesterton. The question is which day & time-slot works best and how frequently should we be trying to run these. Again it may depend on who is available to volunteer as DJ and how many people would need to park in nearby streets (with only 1 VIP car space spare at the venue) instead of coming on foot or bicycle.
