New Community Groups/Collectives: Leader & Host Interest Form
This fall, Redeemer East Side will be launching new Community Groups and Collectives.
-- Community Groups are traditionally composed of congregants who are new to Redeemer or are more seasoned members. They are pivotal in connecting newcomers to the church while providing a forum to process the Christian faith more deeply.
-- A Collective is a space to connect with others over a common interest or hobby for the purpose of enjoyment and community. Common interests and hobbies might include a passion for service, a particular sport, art appreciation or so much more. What's yours?

HOST & LEADER FAQs

--> Complete New Leader Basics--a practical and theoretical training session.
--> Facilitate and/or host weekly group meetings starting the week of September 24
--> Attend periodic Cultivate leader trainings for encouragement and support

2. What are the responsibilities of a host?
--> Provide a warm and welcoming environment for all types of people
--> Communicate clearly with the group on matters relating to hosting
--> Be an active participant in the group

3. How do I know if I should lead and/or host?
--> Ask your current or previous small group leaders for advice
--> You seek out opportunities to facilitate group discussions or to host a group
--> Reach out to a Redeemer staff member who can listen, pray and help you discern your next step.

4. How do I know if I am qualified to lead?
A leader does not need to be a theology expert. The most important characteristics of a leader are faithfulness, availability and teachability. Group leaders are not expected to teach but rather facilitate discussion and create a space for processing and personal application. In addition, Redeemer has many resources available to support you including a Redeemer staff member to come alongside you.

5.  What are the next steps?
The earlier you express interest, the sooner the staff can provide you with care and direction! You will be connected to a Redeemer staff member who will guide you the whole way.
