Municipal Election Questionnaire - Climate change and sustainability
Thank you for putting your name forward to run for Council.

The results of this survey will be tabulated by municipality (and ward, where applicable) and communicated through Windsor of Change's social media channels, newsletter campaigns and website.  We hope that this will form another tool for you to get your message out to our communities about where you stand on climate change and sustainability, so that voters feel more engaged and likely to vote.

Please complete this questionnaire as soon as possible, and by October 7th at the latest.

Thank you for your time and best of luck to you this election season!

2.

If you're running in the City of Windsor:

I support the City of Windsor’s current goals to reduce per capita carbon emissions from primary energy use and GHG emissions by 40% by 2041. I will encourage the City to align itself with the Federal goal of achieving net-zero by 2050.

If you're running for a County municipality:

The County of Essex, Essex Region Conservation Authority, together with municipal and community partners developed a Regional Energy Plan. I will support and promote implementation from the recommendations of this plan within my municipality, given that the plan states, “Utility costs are estimated to increase 125% to 300% by 2041. These increases reflect both higher prices and population and employment growth.”
