CSCW 2020 Doctoral Consortium: Apply to be a Mentor
The 2020 doctoral consortium will be held at the conference hotel on Sunday, October 18, the day before the main CSCW conference begins. We are looking for a diverse set of mentors to provide feedback to participating PhD students on their dissertation. Responsibilities for mentors include reviewing research documents from a small number of participants (we will try to limit this number to three students) before the consortium and providing verbal feedback during the consortium. Mentors will also be asked to share more general research-related advice and may be asked to participate in a panel during the day on post-PhD careers and research. We expect the consortium to run from 9am-5pm Sunday, with a group dinner afterward.

Please note: At this time, we do not know if we will have any funds to compensate mentors, so unless otherwise stated in the lead-up to the conference, you will have to pay for travel and lodging related to the doctoral consortium. We are focusing our efforts on acquiring funding to support DC participants' attendance as much as possible.

If you are interested in serving as a DC mentor, please complete the below form by April 1. We will notify you by April 30 to let you know if you have been selected as a mentor. Please direct any questions to dc2020@cscw.acm.org.

Thanks,
Jessica Vitak (University of Maryland) and Jenn Thom (Spotify)
