Data Literacy Virtual Advocacy Days
Advocate for statistical and data literacy with the ASA Office of Science Policy. The Data Science and Literacy Act was introduced in the US House of Representatives in February 2023 with bipartisan support. We seek your help to build the number cosponsors of the bill and have a companion bill introduced in the Senate. Please sign up for virtual visits with the staff for your Congressional delegation to share your passion for statistical and data literacy in the US and urge their support of the bill.

ASA staff will provide instructions for requesting the meetings with Congressional staff and support the coordination and scheduling of meetings. You will also be briefed on the Data Science and Literacy Act and how to successfully make our case.

You will start hearing from ASA staff in early March on the details and next steps for the virtual visits. Any questions can be sent to ASA Director of Science Policy Steve Pierson, spierson@amstat.org.

See the resources in the webpage of the ASA Scientific and Public Affairs Advisory Committee and read about the bill's introduction in Amstat News
