Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentor for the CFVA 2023 Mentorship program. Please fill out the form below to sign up to become a mentor, and you will be matched with someone who fits with the expertise that you provide.

This is a flexible program starting as soon as you are matched, and you will work independently with your assigned mentee to set up at least 3x 1-hour sessions or a half day shadow in which you will do an introduction then focused sessions based on what you each would like to do with the allotted time. For example, if you expertise is screen writing you might go through part of a script and provide note, if you are a director or producer you might let them shadow you on set, if you are an entrepreneur you might guide them on how you began you business and advise them on legal and operations practices.

You may use this time to talk, show-and-tell or even do some job shadowing. It is meant to fit both you and your mentee's interests and schedules. You will be responsible for scheduling your sessions and communicating with your mentee through the fall program. You may also do an intro session, then two longer sessions if you feel a shadow is more valuable for your mentee. Though you can go beyond 3 hours, your commitment to this program is just the 3 hours over 3 sessions. These are intended as guidelines, each mentor/mentee group will have a unique version that works for them best so it is encourage to tailor this to both your needs.
