59th Pan American Health Organization Directing Council 2021: Canadian Youth Consultation
In preparation for the  59th Pan American Health Organization Directing Council, the Canadian youth delegate will be conducing roundtable discussions with youth across Canada to gain their insight into pertinent global health issues. The goal of the Canadian youth delegate is to provide youth, students, peers, and colleagues insight into the purpose and role of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) including the organizations’ agenda-setting meetings being the WHA and the Pan American Health Organization Directing Council (PAHO DC). As well as, highlight the value and importance of engaging in global health issues, including a better understanding of Canada’s role and involvements.

All insights provided by youth will help establish the priorities and recommendations that will be shared with teh Canadian Government's Office of International Affairs for the Health Portfolio in advance of the 59th PAHO DC.

(Background information: The Canadian delegation consists of a civil society representative, as well as leaders and staff members from the Office of International Affairs for the Health Portfolio (Public Health Agency of Canada), Global Affairs Canada, and Health Canada.)
