2024 Summer Activist Institute Application
SafeBAE's 2024 Summer Activist Institute participants will be competitively chosen to attend the institute from June 24-27th in South Portland, Maine. Our funding limits participant spots to only 20 students, but we will extend that number if at all possible. So please be considerate of other applicants and only accept your spot if you are 100% committed to attending.  You and your guardian will be required to sign a commitment contract, requiring a reimbursement of costs associated with your participation, if you cancel.

All local ground transportation, accommodations, meals, and activities will be free for all participants. Although we have not secured funding to fully cover all participants' travel expenses, we will be working to provide full or partial scholarships for anyone in need. Additionally, all participants will have the opportunity to submit grant proposals for the 2024-25 school year.  For this reason, we are only accepting applications from students who are rising freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors.  A parent/guardian will have to approve your application, so you will be prompted to provide their information as well.

Directly following this application, you will receive an email/text with a link to sign up for an interview with members of our planning committee. It is imperative that you note the TIME ZONE for your interview and that we keep on schedule, to allow for all applicants to have adequate time.

Please direct any questions to aela@safebae.org.
*LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC students are especially encouraged to apply.
