Southend Pride is volunteer run, some people volunteer Taking part is an incredible opportunity to support the local LGBTQ+ Community, have fun and we’d love you to join the team.
We are passionate about equality and diversity and all of our events support inclusion, raise awareness and are open to all members of the community. Any funds we raise go directly to running Pride events within Southend.

In 2018 we relaunched pride in Southend with a week of diverse and inclusive events culminating in a parade and festival in central Southend which attracted around 4500 visitors.

Our week of events ranged from film showings, inclusive church services, drag night, comedy event and poetry and speaking word events showcasing the amazing talent and creativity from the LGBTQ+ community in Southend. Everything we do is designed to give LGBTQ+ people an opportunity to speak loudly about their experiences in a non-judgemental environment while having fun.

Around 50 people volunteer to keep Southend Pride successful. We are always looking to add to our diversity and are especially keen to receive applications from the QTIPOC* communities.
