TOGETHER IN JESUS: FIRST RECONCILIATION:  Now, let us put what you have learned so far about the Ten Commandments to the test. Turn to page 4 in your "Together in Jesus" Lesson 2. We have learned that we belong to the Church, which is a community of people that tries to keep the commandments. We also know that the Ten Commandments ask us to obey God and to respect others, so let's see how you do. Using your sticker sheet, find the correct stickers to put in each place, and then answer the questions below.

Excellent! Before we receive the sacrament of Reconciliation, we prepare ourselves with a special kind of prayer called an "Examination of Conscience." We ask God to help us remember the ways that we have not loved God, others, or ourselves. These are the sins for which we want to say we are sorry. A good way to make an examination of conscience is to think about the Ten Commandments. Find your an "Examination of Conscience" laminated card, as well as the card listing the "Ten Commandments." You can use both of these cards to ask yourself questions that will help you to prepare for Reconciliation.
We have learned in this lesson that the Commandments are the rules that God gave us to help us live in a way that is pleasing to him. When we follow the Commandments, they allow us to grow closer to God and to one another. In order to do that, we need to know what the Commandments are.  Continue to use these two cards every day to familiarize yourself with the commandments and to get ready for your Reconciliation by examining your conscience.

Super great job!  I want you to remember that "Reconciliation is a Celebration." It is a celebration of God's power to make all things new for us!! We will continue to learn more about this celebration as we continue our lessons!
