Winter Wonderland is a holiday-themed video project, filmed by Emmy Award winning videographer Chris Cranford in front of the Arkansas State Capitol this November, that provides a unique opportunity for young dancers ages 6-18 with the opportunity to celebrate the holidays with Ballet Arkansas! Dancers will join us for a virtual placement process in late September, enjoy 5 weekends of virtual rehearsal in October and early November, film the project in mid-November, and enjoy watching the broadcast in December with family and friends!

REQUIREMENTS
All dancers must be age 6-18 by the audition date, currently enrolled in dance classes for Fall 2020, and fulfill the minimum requirements of dance training; 1 year of dance training for dancers 6-7, 2 years of dance training for dancers 8-9, 3 years of dance training for dancers 10-12, 4 years of dance training for dancers 13-18.

DRESS CODE
Females: Black leotard, full-length pink/flesh-toned tights (tights must be inside the ballet shoes), pink/flesh-toned ballet shoes, pink/flesh-toned pointe shoes. Hair must be secured neatly in a bun with hair spray and bobby pins.
Males: White fitted t-shirt, ballet shoes, and black: dance tights, jazz pants or non-baggy shorts. Hair should be out of the eyes.

VIRTUAL REHEARSALS
Rehearsals for each group (12 dancers or less) will occur over the course of 5 weekends: October 2-4, October 9-11, October 16-18, October 23-25, November 6-8. *November 6-8th may be changed to a site specific, outdoor rehearsal within 15 miles of Little Rock, AR.
ABSENCES
Dancers are allowed 1 absence. Dancers who miss more than 1 rehearsal are required to schedule a 1/2 hour private lesson ($40) to make up the rehearsal. All rehearsal will be conducted on Zoom with individualized corrections and a Ballet Arkansas Ballet Master.
FILMING
Filming will occur at the Arkansas State Capitol on Saturday, November 14th between 8:45am - 2:30pm or Sunday, November 15th between 9:00am - 3:00pm. Dancers must be available on both dates. Each group will receive a designated film time announced following placement. In the instance of bad weather, we have held Sunday, November 22nd for a backup filming date. Please note that filming will occur outdoors, and it may be a touch chilly!
COSTUMES
In order to minimize health concerns related to costume fittings, costumes will be ordered by Ballet Arkansas and will be kept by each participant. Parents will use the costume chart provided on this registration form and after accepting their role, costumes will be immediately purchased by Ballet Arkansas. *Please note that costume availability may change from now until ordering takes place in early October, therefore roles/costumes in marketing photos may be adjusted to accommodate current costume availability.

FILMING PROCEDURES
Ballet Arkansas and cast members will adhere to enhanced health protocols on the filming date, including health screenings on the morning of the filming date and upon arrival, social distancing, and mask wearing prior to performance. Additional details will be provided in the cast information packet.
CANCELLATION
Winter Wonderland was designed to suit the times and with the health and safety of our staff and participants in mind. Ballet Arkansas will continually monitor requirements outlined by government and health officials and Ballet Arkansas will explore every opportunity for the continuation of the project.
