In order to care for your child as best we can, whilst at Thorpe Woodlands, we would like your permission to
administer certain medications (if we feel that it is absolutely necessary or upon the advice of medical professionals).

- A headache or slight temperature can make a child very uncomfortable during an activity and is usually easily
cured with a dose of Six Plus Calpol (paracetamol). This will only be administered to your child if deemed necessary by both the Trip Leader and First Aider.

- In the event of a medical emergency (for example a suspected anaphylactic reaction), we would also like your permission to give your child Piriton syrup (anti-histamine). This will only be administered to your child if deemed appropriate by a Medical Professional but we obviously also require your permission to do so.

- If your child has been diagnosed as asthmatic and their inhaler is not readily available, we would like your
permission to use a new, emergency Salbutamol Inhaler. This has been obtained by the school, without the
need for a prescription, and held in school. Further details are available from the Department of Health via the

If a headache or temperature persisted, or indeed an allergic reaction or asthma attack was severe, we would of course consult the necessary medical or emergency services.
