How long do these foods need to be avoided?
24 hours before and after drinking Grandmother should be sufficient.
Is it very important to avoid these foods?
Food interaction with the Grandmother Vine is frankly not as serious a matter as it is with pharmaceutical MAOIs. The warnings about tyramine interaction for example, are taken very seriously, as they are adapted from warnings about interactions with pharmaceutical MAOIs.
While there are no reports of fatalities from food interactions with the Grandmother Vine, food interactions could conceivably be life-threatening for a person with severe high blood pressure or serious heart disease. People with these conditions, therefore, should follow the MAOI safety diet very strictly when preparing to meet Grandmother.
*PLEASE NOTE:
Peganum harmala (Syrian rue) is a stronger MAOI than Banisteriopsis (Grandmother Vine) and has potentially more serious interactions.
What can I eat?
In simple terms, the MAOI safety diet looks like: Consume foods that are as fresh as possible and not overripe, preserved, or spoiled in any way.
Is it really that dangerous to combine some pharmaceutical drugs with the Grandmother Vine?
YES. Unlike food interactions, whose consequences are unlikely to be serious, interaction with pharmaceutical drugs and medications (including some over-the-counter drugs and certain herbs) can be potentially life-threatening.
*IMPORTANT
ALL PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS MUST BE NOTED ON YOUR HEALTH FORM AND APPROVED PRIOR TO CEREMONY DURING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS.
PLEASE CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STOPPING ANY PRESCRIBED MEDICATIONS!
The safety and overall well-being of each of our guests is our number one priority. It is imperative that any and all medical history be disclosed on the form. Once the form is reviewed, we will discuss with each person directly any medications that need to be stopped beforehand and address any medical concerns you may have. We cannot confirm anyone's eligibility for attending the gathering until we have received your form.
*CERTAIN "RECREATIONAL DRUGS" CAN BE DANGEROUS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE CEREMONY FOR YOU AND FOR OTHER GUESTS. PLEASE ADHERE TO OUR GUIDELINES AND RECOMMENDATIONS.*
It is recommended that any street drugs be stopped at least two weeks prior to ceremony and it is important not to partake for at least 5 days following the gathering. Street drugs can cause an adverse drug reaction with the Grandmother Vine and can be severely dangerous. If you suffer from addiction please reach out to us so we can assess your unique situation and avoid any *street drug MAOI negative interactions. The Grandmother Vine is an MAOI.

TRIBE
We meet our soul family as we travel in this journey. Together we form a sacred bond that is like no other. While respecting everyone's processes, we hold space for each other in support. Leaving all judgment of self and others at the maloka door, there is an amazing collective consciousness that happens with individuals when in the medicine space. They/we become members of the collective tribe.
SUPPORT & INTEGRATION
Support and integration are extremely important parts of your soul journey. There will be one group Zoom consultation, at least two weeks prior to our work, a one-on-one to go over this form, and one follow-up integration by phone or Zoom when you return home. This allows you an opportunity to begin to integrate your journey downloads, gain clarity, set intentions, and discuss all medical, physical, and or emotional concerns.
Integration is the process that takes place after the Gathering, where you take all the magic of your true authentic self and bring it back into your daily life, thereby allowing you to navigate lifestyles and relationships in a new frequency. "Integration is like tending to the garden [of your soul]." Starr Shontere ''
CONFIDENTIALITY
- Please keep all of this information strictly confidential and do not forward any of these emails, contacts, names, times or locations to friends or family.
- Absolutely no pictures or recordings are allowed during the ceremony. Part of the beauty of transformation is the ability to go deep within. Holding a safe and sacred container for transformation is essential. What happens in a Gathering stays within the Gathering!
There are only 3 BIG rules during our Gathering:
1. We do not “should” on each other!
We honor and respect everyone’s process and speak from the “I Feel” instead of the “you should”. We are not here to counsel others, and to drop into your own experience sharing from the heart. We own our projections and do this work with the Grandmother to reach beyond. Respect each other’s process, and give space for each person to work through that process whatever it looks like.
2. We do not share others’ experiences outside of the Gathering. What happens on Retreat, stays on Retreat.
3. We do not touch others without consent inside nor outside of the ceremony space. Consent is a non-negotiable and violators will be asked to leave Portland immediately.
REFERRALS
If you would like to invite a close and trusted friend into the Vibez family we would be most honored. Everyone in attendance on our retreats must sit in ceremony, go through the interview process and pay the fees.
Please do not forward this email to anyone directly, rather email or call Vibez with names and contact information and we will follow up. Also, please refer only those who you know well, trust to be discreet, and who are willing to adhere to the conditions listed above.
AND FINALLY... Let us know if you have any additional questions. We are so excited, truly blessed and grateful that you have chose us to share in the journey with you.
Many Blessings!
The Vibez Tribe
