Position Title: Maintenance Manager / Maintenance Leader

Position Summary: The role of Maintenance Leader is to holistically create, build, grow and maintain a proactive maintenance program to ensure the property, all units (current and future), accessory buildings, and the related FF&E are maintained in appearance, safety measures, and good working order. This will be accomplished by training, supporting, supervising, and working alongside the maintenance team, creating and implementing a sustainable, documented maintenance plan that is scalable as additional units are added and repeatable at future locations. The expectation is always to be a servant leader, leading by example in daily activities and attitude.

Company Culture: We are building a winning team of high-performers who strive for excellence, work with speed, and value work that has a lasting impact! We learn and grow daily by taking on ambitious projects.

We believe America’s workforce would be in a much better place if everyone grew up on a farm. If you're not ready to work like someone your grandpa would be proud of, the Bolt Farm team is not for you. Let's be honest, most people don't have the grit, work ethic, and drive to be on a championship team. But if you do, you're probably tired of working on a losing team, and we welcome the opportunity to hear about how much ass you can kick.

“Farm Strong” core values we work & live by:

  1. Best is the standard.

  2. Honesty & integrity always win.

  3. We are growth-minded & hard-working.

  4. We work with speed and efficiency as a close team.

  5. We communicate with radical transparency.

  6. We celebrate every victory.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing maintenance TEAM that meets agreed objectives, and delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvement.

  • Creation and implementation of maintenance/property program and PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) that includes best practice maintenance and improves operational performance.

  • Ensure all maintenance sheds, vehicles, tools, and equipment are well organized and well maintained by your TEAM each day before they leave. “Best is the standard”. Inspire & instill a sense of pride in your maintenance TEAM so they are proud of their work and workspaces.

  • Provide a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.

  • Oversee, manage, and direct all maintenance procedures and operations.

  • Prioritizing, scheduling, and assigning all work/tasks and communicating with the TEAM.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities affecting occupied units with GM, when applicable.

  • Effectively delegate maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift and small projects to the right skills within the TEAM.

  • Perform inspections and oversight of maintenance work (QA/QC).

  • Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.

  • Perform root cause analyses and fully resolve problems.

  • Controlling and approving maintenance-related expenses in coordination with Financial Controller.

  • Ensure all adopted plans/SOPs operate in accordance with any health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and guests.

Schedule: We operate much like the hard-working farm our founder, Seth Bolt, was raised on. We wake up early & excited to do meaningful work, we don’t stop working until the job is done, and we feel a great sense of pride at the end of each day for accomplishing everything we set out to do. Potential on-call for emergency repairs outside of normal schedule hours, including weekends.

Qualifications: We value work ethic, servant leadership, growth mindset, and past results significantly more than your degree (or lack thereof), GPA, etc. Have you delivered quantifiable results in a similar role in the past? If so, that’s what we’re looking for. This opportunity is available for a proven leader with a positive “whatever it takes” attitude with a track record of driving & delivering impressive results.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate clearly with your Team, General Manager, and Owners. You must be coachable and growth-minded.

  • Must be good at fixing things and finding excellent solutions.

  • Must be reliable, hard working, proactive.

  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.

  • Professional appearance - work boots & jeans (no holes) required.

  • Ability to communicate kindly with guests if necessary.

  • High standard of excellence.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking

  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, kneel, or navigate crawl spaces.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Disqualifiers: Please do NOT apply if any of these things can be said about you.

  • You do not have reliable transportation.

  • You have never worked as a manager or you don't consider yourself to be an effective leader.

  • You are not a team player.

  • You have a history of missing or calling out of work.
