An annual favorite musical opportunity, SCHS Band students will once again complete a Chamber Music Project over the course of this year. Students may choose to create their own small ensembles, perform a solo, join a large chamber ensemble, or participate in a number of events! Students are encouraged to take charge of forming groups and selecting music, however, if anyone needs assistance in selecting music or finding a group at any time, I am more than happy to help! There are two possible tracks for students to complete this year-long project:

1.) Performance track, in which students elect to participate in MSBOA Solo & Ensemble Festival.

2.) Portfolio track, in which students work on a written and audio recorded portfolio throughout the school year, one entry for each of our Chamber Music Days throughout the year.

ALL students, regardless of chosen track, will complete their project on Monday, May 18th by performing their selected works at our Chamber Music Night at Rochester Municipal Park's Band Shell. This is has evolved into a highlight for the year, and is a favorite opportunity for many-- I hope all students embrace this awesome opportunity and find the CMP to be a fulfilling experience!
