THIS AWARD IS NAMED IN HONOR OF THE LATE DR. ALOFA TANUVASA, COMPTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT TEACHER AND FOUNDING NPIEN BOARD MEMBER   Award Nomination Deadline June 14, 2024  Awards Ceremony October 26, 2024 In-Person (At Hayward High School, California) and Virtual


CRITERIA:
Community members (business people, other professionals, community-based organizations or their members, parent volunteers) working with Pacific Islander students (Chamorro (Guam), Fijian, Hawaiian, Maori, Marshallese, Samoan, Tahitian, Tongan, etc.) in grades K-12, or college or university are eligible for the Dr. Alofa Tanuvasa Village Award. Nominees do NOT have to be of Pacific Islander descent.
Community members may be nominated by community members, educators, or students.
Community members are selected based on their commitment to Pacific Islander student achievement, and service to students and the school community
