Play date JUNE 26th -FREEFORM WEAVING ON A FRAME LOOM
Jennifer Newcomb will lead this play date.
Using a frame as a basic loom, we will warp the loom and learn basic weaving techniques and tapestry techniques. We use yarn, fiber, and fabric to create....pictures (traditional tapestry); collages; free forms.. (If you have a piece of lace, fabric, yarn, feathers, or something special to you, that can be incorporated into the weaving bring it with you!)
This workshop gives you the basics--a jumping off point for you to pursue fiber as an artistic expression. The cost is only $10 and is limited to the first 12-15 people.
Jennifer will supply all materials except the frame. Students should bring scissors. Frame (8 x 10 or any near that size. 9 x 12, 10 x 10, etc.) be a picture frame or artists' canvas without the canvas. Frame will not be damaged by weaving, and can be reused.
Materials include: yarn needles, scissors, assorted yarns, hair picks, forks, fiber and "treasures."

About Jennifer:" Spinning is my passion. I love dyeing my fibers and turning them into unique yarns. I knit and crochet, and will try almost any fiber technique that will put my yarns to good use! I weave in the Saori way, on Saori looms, and occasionally on rigid heddle looms. Not one to follow patterns or to be stuck in a box, I prefer freeform weaving as a way to express my creativity."
