Interested in leading a team of volunteers in a hands-on service task, developing your leadership skills, and getting an certificate for completing 40+ service hours? Apply to be a Team Lead for The Project! Led by the Community Engagement Collective, The Project is UT’s largest day of service and has been an annual UT event for 25 years!
The Project was founded in 1999 when a group of UT students united with Keep Austin Beautiful staff members to create a single-day, student-run service event. Since then, we have engaged students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community volunteers to participate annually in the spirit of service and volunteer in local Austin neighborhoods.
The Project's success depends heavily on the contribution of Team Leads! Team Leads are The Project’s event staff. They are one of the most valuable pieces of this event because it’s the Team Leads who are really in charge on event day. They serve as the point of communication between volunteers and the Project planning team, oversee work sites, and lead volunteers. A full training curriculum is provided for each Team Lead area, and all meals are provided during trainings and on Project Day.
