California State Math Standards Included:

2.2 Memorize to automaticity the multiplication table for numbers between 1 and 10.

Note: In these multiplication quizzes, the student applies mastery of the times tables to solve equations with larger products. The student can break a two-digit number into parts (tens and ones), then multiply each part by the single-digit factor. Finally, the student will add the two products together. When students become proficient at doing this with visual support, they should then be able to perform the 'trick' when a problem is dictated to them.
