Bear Creek's Campus Advisory Council (CAC) is a committee of teachers, administration, campus staff, parents, business and community representatives. The mission of CACs is to promote excellence in education for all students through broad-based representation.
CACs provide valuable input to principals, who ultimately have decision-making responsibility for their campuses. Specific functions of CACs include providing review and comment on:
- Campus Educational Program
- Campus Performance
- Campus Improvement Plan
- Campus Staff Development Plan
- Campus-Level Waiver Requests to the State
- Campus Budget
The following CAC membership criteria apply:
- Parents must live within the district, and must be a custodial parent or guardian of a student currently enrolled in the school indicated above.
- AISD employees can be on a school committee as long as the employee is not serving as the parent representative.
- An AISD employee can serve as a teacher representative and/or CAC Co-Chair staff member.
- An AISD employee cannot serve as a parent representative / CAC Co-Chair non-staff member.
- Community members must live within the district. Community Members may not also be parents or AISD employees, and must be at least 18 years of age.
- Business representatives needs not live or work within the district. Business representatives may also be parents.
Deadline for applications is Friday, August 25, 2023. All applicants will be notified by September 1st about CAC committee appointments.
