Ladies and
Gentlemen, we are thrilled to announce the Miss Illinois Juneteenth Scholarship
Pageant, a statewide competition that will provide an opportunity for talented
young women across Illinois to showcase their beauty, intelligence, and grace.
The Miss
Illinois Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant is more than just a beauty pageant; it
is an opportunity for young women to earn scholarships, gain confidence, and
develop leadership skills. The competition will be held in honor of Juneteenth,
which marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Texas learned that they
were free, two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation
Proclamation.
The winner
of the Miss Illinois Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant will not only receive a scholarship
but also have the opportunity to promote her platform and be an ambassador for
the Juneteenth celebration in Illinois as well as the opportunity to compete nationally for the chance to represent the spirit of JUNETEENTH across The United States of America..
We encourage
all eligible young women to apply and showcase their unique talents,
intelligence, and beauty. Join us in celebrating Juneteenth and honoring the
accomplishments of young black women in Illinois. Applications are now open,
