Dear Theatre Student,
Because of your involvement with Trinitas Arts Conservatory, you have the opportunity to apply for membership in Troupe #4566 of the International Thespian Honor Society.
When you become a member you can:
Attend state and international festivals
Audition for scholarships and colleges
Do volunteer projects and enjoy social events
Earn an honor cord for theatre at graduation
Earn the right to a Servite or Rosary varsity jacket
The requirements You must have performed in or crewed for one (1) TAC show while in high school. These shows may include any showcase or cabaret; a fall, winter, or spring show; or a Comedy Sportz match. You must have accumulated 10 Thespian Points to apply.
You can earn a maximum of 5 points for work completed before your freshman year of high school, or at theatres other than Trinitas Arts Conservatory. All additional points must come from TAC activities, since it is a Trinitas Arts Conservatory Honor Troupe. You receive points only for the largest job you had in each production. Please see points form or troupe director for details about points for students who have multiple responsibilities in one production.
All points are subject to approval. If you meet the requirements, you will receive written notification of your acceptance after your application has been processed. At that time, the initiation fee will be due, and you will receive information about the initiation banquet.
ONCE INDUCTED, STUDENTS WILL BE PART OF THE TROUPE FOR THE DURATION OF HIGH SCHOOL AND WILL BE BILLED ANNUALLY FOR DUES WHETHER OR NOT THE STUDENT CHOOSES TO ATTEND MEETINGS AND ACTIVITIES. ANNUAL FEES MAY BE RAISED FROM TIME TO TIME TO COVER COSTS.
The benefits You will be able to attend state and international festivals, where you will have the opportunity to audition or show a portfolio for professional judges. You will receive a critique of your presentation, and possibly earn awards for your work. Many of our Thespians have been awarded scholarship money for college and/or tuition to the international festival. In addition, you will have access to coaching before those festivals. In addition, other scholarship opportunities will be made available to you.
At TAC productions, you will have the opportunity to audition first, and will be recognized in the program as a Thespian. You will be required to attend the monthly meetings and complete 2 service projects each year in order to maintain these privileges.
Once you are a junior and have accumulated 60 points or more, you are eligible to order a varsity jacket. Upon graduation, if you maintain a 3.0 total GPA, accumulate 60 Thespian points or more, and stay current on your service projects and dues, you will be eligible for the Thespian Honor Cord, which you may wear at graduation. This is an honor that you must earn.
If you have any other questions, please see your nearest officer! Good Luck!
FORMAL SPRING INDUCTION WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE TRINITAS BANQUET ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 15.
